Hello & welcome!
I’m Nicky, a freelance garden and plant photographer capturing atmospheric telling images of gardens and flowers, meadows and woods. Having originally worked as a gardener I have an intuitive understanding and feel for gardens and plants. Mesmerised by movement of light over natural forms I’m drawn to convey their beauty and character using this play of light and shadow, capturing spirit of plant and place.
Working with gardens and gardeners, journalists and editors, I’ve had work published in magazines (The English Garden, Gardens Illustrated, The Great Dixter Journal, RHS The Garden) and books (Borde Hill Garden and Garden Heaven by the National Trust). I’m represented by GAP photos and I also produce my own range of greeting cards.
I’m a full member of the Garden Media Guild and the Professional Garden Photographers’ Association.
In 2018 I was awarded first place in the category ‘Beautiful Gardens’ in the International Garden Photographer of the Year and had a highly commended in this year’s competition.
Based in East Sussex I’m available for commissioned work from magazines, books, newspapers, garden designers and garden owners to produce images for publishing, websites, prints or photographic books.
To commission, collaborate or just connect, do drop me a line or fill out the contact form. In the meantime please enjoy browsing my website.
“You capture light like no-one else I know, Nicky. I need a thesaurus to come up with more words to describe your magical eye.”
